@JenBuds69 I forgot to add, the PurplePAR 90w UFO Led Grow light puts out 1932 uMole (ppfd) at 4″ from? light. To give you an idea of how that compares. The sun puts out 1500 uMole in the middle of the sea on the brightest clear sunny day. (Hope i didn’t confuse you all)
@kikinxirv The proper way is to measure PAR (Photosynthetic Active radiation), this is the light spectrum that plants use for photosynthesis, lumen’s / lux is a measurement for human eye! You need to measure uMole (micro mole /micro Einstein) this is done using a meter which will measure PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) this is how many photons (PAR) hitting the surface / m2. LEDs are definitely the wave of the future. The results have been improving dramatically the last couple of years. You can get some killer results with the ufo’s. check out the scrog box website , they have some sweet grow boxes on? the site, and a couple with leds that will yield sweet results!
@kikinxirv Dude I sold this thing months? ago. I will purchase an LED when I can easily get that info and compare to different brands which are accountable to what they produce, like you can with HID lights.
Seriously no technical info. Buy a? lux meter and measure the difference. Not oh I think its going to over heat with the fans. I 4 different ones and all preform at the thousands 10 inches away when a hid at 10 inches gives only 600

hey, it seems to me that you got one of those generic chinese brands off of? eBay or something…everything ive read about these so far says that you should pay the extra money because the “real” ones are much, much better in every way. Not criticizing you, just saying that once that burns out you could do much better with a legit light…
@maclovindotca Theres more then one reason to care about hydro uses.
at least 6 i can think of, and the biggest one being that the hydro companies are paid
once per year to make a list of users who may have “hid” equipment
Other then that, I dont care what you pay or dont pay, its your ass.

@samljer I don’t pay hydro so I could care less? about power usage.
@66bumper I? got 2 UFO led 90w lights and I was thinking to do exactly what you did mix them with some CFL, I hope it works.
i got the same lamp its really noisy and i dont think the power usage is exactly 90w
if ther is 90 led’s plus 3 fans how much power? do the fans use. ?
@maclovindotca or you? can do your homework, get the LED now, and save $100 a year in power costs.
