Long-Standing Bay Area Dispensary Forced to Close
Berkeley Patients Group – a 9,000-member medical marijuana dispensary that has operated in the Bay Area for nearly 13 years – has shut its doors.
The dispensary’s landlord was sent a letter citing violations of federal law – specifically that BPG was too close to two schools – late last year. U.S. attorney Melinda Haag warned that the landlord’s assets would be seized if the group continued to operate and distribute medical cannabis.
