Long-Term Logbook, April 2012: Honda Civic
CG Observed Miles: 7,319 miles
CG Observed Fuel Economy: 33 mpg
Editors’ Comments:
John Biel: Consistently high fuel mileage, which the Civic delivers, sometimes has to be balanced with the need for zippy performance, which is less obvious in certain situations.

Long-Term Tests Over the course of the year, our editors drive approximately 200 new cars and trucks. Most vehicles are evaluated over a two-week period; some are evaluated for six to 12 months. The vehicles we drive for this extended period of time are called Long-Term Testers.

Rick Cotta: Civic remains a top pick in the compact class, though some of its “cast-in-stone” feature availability may leave some people scratching their heads–and looking elsewhere. But if one of the available trim levels offers what you want at a competitive price, you really can’t go wrong with the Civic.
Dave Hall: The Civic is a great point-a-to-point-b appliance, but it has some heart too. It’s entertaining to drive, has enough power to exhibit authority in daily driving, and will carry you, a couple friends, and your stuff in relative comfort. Overall, it’s a good road trip car.
