John Lasseter Hire Prompts Tough Questions at Skydance Town Hall; David Ellison Asks Staff for Time & Patience
Deadline reports that Skydance Media CEO Ellison made it clear that the ousted Disney-Pixar chief is under a one-strike-and-out policy — the company held town halls at its Interactive division, film/TV corporate offices and Skydance Animation. The latter division’s senior female executives, including Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg and Chief Marketing Officer Anne Globe, hosted a women’s lunch to discuss concerns. The CCO and CMO reportedly expressed a belief in giving Lasseter a second chance.

CROWDFUND: Journey into IMAGIMATION TV Series
This new project from the Animation Hall of Fame seeks to explore the international history of animation with an in-depth, groundbreaking TV series which has been planned and researched for many years. Each 10- to 30-minute of the first season will focus on a chunk of 140 historic works and the pioneers behind them.

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Stuttgart AniMovie Competition
International producers now have until January 25, 2019 to submit for the feature film section of the 26th Stuttgart Int’l Festival of Animated Film, taking place April 30-May 5.

CALL FOR PAPERS: Animafest Scanner VI Symposium for Contemporary Animation Studies
