NPDs: Kane & Lynch 2 at #3 on Top 10 New Releases Chart for August
The NPD Group has released a Top 10 New Releases Chart for August 2010, which offers a new perspective on the traditional charts (via Gamasutra).
The most notable addition is Kane & Lynch: Dog Days, which sits at number three on the chart following Madden NFL 11 and Mafia II. Kane & Lynch, which debuted August 17, failed to chart in the full August Top 20.
Other games making an appearance include Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar at number six and Ys Seven at seven. As Gamasutra points out, many of these titles failed to make the main charts in part due to strong performances by games like New Super Mario Bros. and Modern Warfare 2, which are in the Top 20 month after month.
