‘The Powerpuff Girls: Monkey Mania’ Launcher Game Breaks Out

Leading mobile, PC, console and web game publisher Kongregate has teamed up with No. 1 U.S. TV animation destination Cartoon Network and game developer Juicy Beast to unleash The Powerpuff Girls: Monkey Mania. A fun-filled launcher game, the title combines the polish and style of Juicy Beast games (the indie devs behind Burrito Bison: Launcha Libre) with the adorable charm of The Powerpuff Girls.

Synopsis: Mojo Jojo is up to no good again, this time harnessing his wicked Chemical-Xtractor to steal The Powerpuff Girls’ powers and use them to generate a massive army of evil gummy monkeys. Despite losing their powers, The Powerpuff Girls must fight back against this new gummy menace in addition to the villains that are now wreaking havoc in Townsville.

The Powerpuff Girls: Monkey Mania is such an incredible pairing of characters, gameplay, and developer,” said Kongregate’s director of publishing, Peter Eykemans. “Juicy Beast has a way with creating whimsical and funny worlds that pairs incredibly well with The Powerpuff Girls universe. Giving them the keys to the kingdom allowed them to really bring the girls and the villains to life. We’re very happy with how The Powerpuff Girls: Monkey Mania is coming together and are excited to get it in the hands of fans.”

Monkey Mania builds on Juicy Beast’s previous games to deliver an action-packed and simply delightful experience. Don’t like surprises? AI predicts who survives ‘Game of Thrones’

MUNICH (Reuters) – If you are a “Game of Thrones” fan and appreciate the element of surprise, stop reading now.

Students at the Technical University of Munich have developed an application to predict which character has the best chance to claim the coveted Iron Throne in the HBO hit medieval fantasy series about warring families.

They have taught the application to scour the web for information about each of the characters, which is then processed by artificial intelligence algorithms to assess their survival chances.

“We scraped the results from different Wiki pages and Wiki-like pages about the books and TV show and we took out data like gender and age of the characters,” said student Christian Dallago. “We put all this together to train the algorithm to tell us when this character is going to die.”

There is a good chance the application will get it right.

Back in 2016, an algorithm created by computer science students at the same university in the southern German city shortly before the start of Season 6 accurately predicted that Jon Snow would resurrect.

If you’re still reading, clearly you’re not a fan of plot twists and turns.

So here you go: AI says that Daenerys Targaryen has the best chance of survival in the final season, which starts on Sunday.

UK town battens down the hatches for crazy ‘royal’ football game

Players fight for the ball during the annual Shrovetide football match in Ashbourne, Britain March 5, 2019. REUTERS/Toby Melville

LONDON (Reuters) – Hundreds of people descended on the town of Ashbourne in central England on Tuesday to play a traditional football game in which the rules are hazy and the goals three miles apart.

The Royal Shrovetide Football Match involves teams called the Up’ards and the Down’ards, who battle to try and tap the ball three times on stone plinths that act as goals.

Well aware of the passions involved, local shops close early and board up as if preparing for a riot.

Due to the large numbers taking part, there is little kicking of the ball with players instead tending to carry the ball across the boundary-free pitch.

The match is played from 2 to 10 p.m. on both Shrove Tuesday and the following day, Ash Wednesday, but goals are rare because of the size of the pitch, with last year’s match finishing 1-1.

The centuries-old event in Derbyshire gained its “royal” title when the future Edward VIII started the game in 1928 by throwing up the ball in traditional fashion, an act since repeated by present heir to the throne Prince Charles in 2003.

Cyber Group & Outright Games Team for ‘Gigantosaurus’ Game

Cyber Group Studios has teamed up with Outright Games to create a new playable title inspired by animated series Gigantosaurus, which launched in January on Disney Channel U.S. The video game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

“Cyber Group Studios is excited to build on the television series and expand the franchise to video games with Outright Games. With their considerable expertise in the family market, we know they will deliver a game that will bring Gigantosaurus to life in a whole new way and further captivate fans around the globe,” said Pierre Sissmann, Chairman and CEO of Cyber Group Studios.

Based on the bestselling book by world-renowned author Jonny Duddle, Gigantosaurus is a full-CGI comedy-action series produced by Cyber Group Studios which brings preschoolers along on the adventures of four young dinosaur friends as they explore their prehistoric world and the mystery of Gigantosaurus — the biggest, fiercest dinosaur of them all. The series will be broadcast on Disney Junior worldwide (excluding India, China and Taiwan) and major broadcast networks around the globe, including France Télévisions, Super RTL (Germany), RAI (Italy) and SRC (Canada) as well as on Netflix in the majority of territories worldwide.

The Gigantosaurus video game, created by Outright Games in partnership with Cyber Group Studios, will feature the four dinosaur heroes — Rocky, Bill, Tiny and Mazu — in a new action-packed story. Geared towards kids and families, the debut game brings players directly into the world of Gigantosaurus as they zoom through the stunning series-inspired locations and engage with the storylines.

Established by industry veteran Terry Malham in 2016, Outright Games brings a wealth of experience in creating and publishing high-quality interactive family entertainment, including with licenses such as How to Train Your Dragon, PAW Patrol and Adventure Time.

“We are thrilled to partner with Cyber Group Studios on this exciting new IP. Their commitment to producing stories that delight and help children across the world grow is second to none,” said Malham. “We look forward to combining our expertise in producing high-quality family entertainment to create a fun game for the whole family to enjoy and play together.”

Trailer: ‘Reigns: Game of Thrones’ Pre-Orders Open

The hot scoop out of Westeros is that Nerial, Devolver Digital and HBO have unveiled Reigns: Game of Thrones — a new power-grabbing game in the “swipe ‘em up” series, based on HBO’s award winning TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones. The title will launch on the App Store, Google Play and Steam for $ 3.99 in October, and is now available for pre-order.

Learn more at reignsgame.com or by following @ReignsGame on Twitter.

Reigns: Game of Thrones extends beyond the show and explores possible futures for key characters as seen through the fiery visions of the Red Priestess, Melisandre. Players can choose to rule as Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Sansa Stark and other contenders while changing between each king and queen to face challenges and mysteries unique to their story. Melisandre’s flames have proven hard to decipher and less than reliable, so players may encounter stories they do not expect: Peer into the flames and you may see Cersei rebuild the Great Sept of Baelor, or discover what could happen to the Seven Kingdoms if Sansa Stark married Jaime Lannister.

Players will choose characters to claim the Iron Throne while carefully navigating the complex relationships and hostile factions of the Seven Kingdoms. Employ ruthless tactics to outwit political rivals, wield impervious charm on your fickle bannerman, and maintain the balance and favor of the people to extend your reign to maybe, one day, survive the horrors of a winter in Westeros. Decide the fate of Seven Kingdoms and those that reside in your land to the soaring score of the HBO series.

Psyop Launches Original Hand-Drawn Game ‘ Camp W’

Creative studio Psyop has launched a new, original, hand-drawn adventure game, Camp W — a beautifully illustrated, story-rich world which players can enter on their PC or Mac computers through online publishing platform Steam.

A hybrid of a choose-your-own-adventure and Saturday morning cartoon, the events of Camp W are guided by player choice. You inhabit the role of a young Witch trespassing in the Human Realm, where you will make friends, cast spells, and uncover secrets during your first ever summer away from home.

“I think we managed to do something really unique with Camp W, by developing an animated series that is actually an interactive experience that you, the player, not only star in, but direct,” said narrative director Alexei Bochenek. “We absolutely stuffed this game with detail, from the art to the story to the musical score, and we worked painstakingly to create a fully realized universe that is both fresh and familiar.”

“What I’m most proud of are the characters that we created, who you get to meet and spend time with when you play,” said creative director Kelly Shay. “This is a game that is silly, spooky, and fun, but also full of heart. It’s about being a little bit weird, and discovering that, when you take a bunch of outsiders and put them together, it turns out that you’re all on the inside of your own community of weirdos, which people in the gaming and animation community already know is an absolutely spectacular group to be a part of. That’s who I think we are behind this game, and that’s who I hope finds and connects with Camp W.”

CAMP W Trailer from Psyop on Vimeo.

Camp W game features include:

  • Friending SimulatorCamp W is filled with interesting characters, but everyone can’t be your best friend — that would be exhausting. You’ll have to decide which campers interest you the most and then get to know them and their stories over the course of your playthrough.
  • Mysteries Await – There’s more to a summer at Camp W than kickball and friendship bracelets. Discover secrets about the history of the Witching Realm and battle evil forces who threaten to rain on your summer fun.
  • Get Your “Choose” On – You decide which camp activities to attend, which questions to ask, and how you want to respond at critical moments throughout the game. One playthrough won’t be enough to explore every path of this branching story.
  • A Hand-Drawn World – Visit more than 20 beautifully illustrated locations — during the day and at night — and hang out with 15 fun characters, all of whom feature a range of fun poses and expressions. Not to mention your Grimoire, which will fill up with drawings as you play through the game.
  • Collectibles Galore – Cast 12 different spells, earn 18 unique badges, and unlock 60+ illustrated memories. You’ll have to replay the game to see them all, but it’s worth it — and you’ll earn achievements along the way.
  • All-Ages…but Not Just for KidsCamp W was designed to be enjoyed by all ages, and we mean it. Youngsters and adults alike will find a lot to love about the story, dialogue, humor and drama throughout the game.
  • Original Score – A complete score featuring more than a dozen tracks composed just for this game by talented composer and musician Davey Thomas Tucker.

It’s not a skins game, but Rose sheds his slacks anyway

(Reuters) – Justin Rose ignored the local alligator population and stripped down to his underwear to hit out of a water hazard at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Thursday.

When the Olympic champion’s tee shot at the par-three third hole finished partly submerged at TPC Louisiana, Rose decided the ball was playable, and bared some skin in an attempt to blast it onto the green.

With partner Henrik Stenson jokingly sticking a hand towards the lens of the nearby TV camera to block the view, Rose shed his slacks, shoes and socks before taking his stance with his right foot in the water, and his left on dry land.

His recovery shot succeeded in finding the green.

Rose perhaps was inspired by Stenson, who nine years ago showed even more skin in a similar attempt to play from a water hazard at a World Golf Championships event at Doral in Florida.

Unlike Rose, Stenson even removed his shirt, leaving himself in just a pair of white underpants before taking his shot.

“My partner showed me what you’ve got to do,” Rose joked. “Remember Doral? He’s not scared of taking his pants off, so he said get in there.”

Rose and Stenson combined to shoot seven-under 65 in the first round of the team event on Thursday.

Rose was more adventurous than American Talor Gooch, who found three alligators nearby after his ball found a bunker at the 18th hole.

Two of the reptiles responded to a nudge from a rake and returned to the adjacent pond, but the third would not budge, which led to a ruling.

Gooch was allowed a free drop in the bunker, but his ball plugged.

He considered that a reasonable outcome under the circumstances.

“I chose life over a good lie in that situation,” he told Golf Channel.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Universal Pictures let something big and bad loose on Super Bowl Sunday, when viewers first got to see star Chris Pratt come face-to-teeth with a new, terrifying dinosaur hybrid (of which we only get suspense-building glimpses) — thankfully, he’s got Blue by his side. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrives in theaters June 22.

Synopsis:

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Maui Wowie can bring easily laughs without the anxiety.

Herbert Fuego

Dear Joey: Cannabis has psychoactive effects, so it impairs the way you think and perceive what’s going on around you. Does that mean you’ll start seeing pink elephants and stars at the bar? No. But it might make you aloof enough to seem like a closed-mouthed weirdo to the opposite sex.

The highs given off by the thousands of cannabis strains available vary considerably; certain sativas might make you make anxious and uncomfortable in crowded places, while some indicas can wipe your mind of all wit and put you on an endless yawning spree.

But other sativas and hybrids, such as certain Diesel strains and calmer sativas like Maui Wowie, can result in downright sociable highs, though that depends on the consumer. Limited studies show that terpenes can actually affect the way your brain reacts to cannabis, and there are dispensaries that sell terpene-only vaporizer products if you want to enjoy a potential social boost from cannabis without the high.

Take a Gander at ‘Untitled Goose Game’

Untitled Goose Game

Untitled Goose Game

In the world of video games, sometimes the simplest ideas make for the best gameplay. In Untitled Goose Game, you are a goose and you use every trick in the goose book to make everyone’s life a living nightmare. The charming and elegant looking game comes courtesy of the company House House, also behind the strange Push Me Pull You.

In their latest work, you play a goose whose job it is to be as horrible as possible to a poor farmer, solving a number of puzzles such as stealing the keys to his shed and forcing him to accidentally blast himself in the face with sprinkler water. Both the carefully crafted animation of the farmer and goose and the cheerful piano soundtrack seem reminiscent of silent comedy by Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton.

Like many silent comedies and classic cartoons, you get the chance to play the antagonist to the farmer’s straight man. The gameplay mixes sneaking and puzzle solving to aid the player in being the Bugs Bunny to the farmer’s Elmer Fudd.

The wonderfully classic music is written by Dan Golding, who also creates video essays about music and visual media on his Youtube channel.

Untitled Goose Game is planned to release sometime in 2018.
