Suspect Tosses Weed Out of Closed Window During Police Chase

The only thing more embarrassing than trying to throw pot out of your car during a high-speed police chase and forgetting to open the window while doing it has got to be the cops capturing the whole thing on video for the world to witness.   That’s exactly what happened to Marquese Anglin, who was being pursued by Fairview (Tennessee) Police for an alleged license plate violation last month. Cop In Jacksonville, FL Kills Unarmed Drug Suspect

Early Wednesday morning an unarmed drug suspect was shot and killed by a Jacksonville, FL police officer during a traffic stop.

According to police Davinian Darnell Williams was driving suspiciously in an area known for “drug activity,” which is police code for the ghetto. After swerving and running some stop signs, Williams finally stopped. Also according to police, the suspect wouldn’t obey commands, then suddenly reached down inside his car, at which point Officer Jeff Edwards fired 7 shots, 6 of which hit Williams. The suspect died at the scene.

While this suspect obviously acted in a stupid manner, did he deserve to be killed? Isn’t it police procedure to make suspects get out of the car and get on the ground, or is that a city-by-city thing? And doesn’t every cop have a taser? It just seems that many steps were skipped in this traffic stop and no cop should have to walk up on a dangerous situation where their only “defense” is killing an unarmed person.

And as far as an area being known for “drug activity,” in reality drug use happens in all areas, especially in The United States. They should come out and say “this black guy was driving weird in the ghetto.”

It’s a shame that a whole structure of criminal activity has been built around people doing drugs. People have always done drugs and always will, but we were dumb enough to find ways to enrich criminals and create a culture of violence around it.
