Ooh, now this is a teasing teaser. A web site has appeared at www.theracereturns.com. It’s unbranded in terms of game names and even a developer, but it’s strange that the only publisher to tweet about it is Codemasters. All that’s currently present on said site is a video of a beautiful, race-spec supercar looking all awesome and snarly. It adds some noxious tyre smoke to the virtual atmosphere before a ’2′ logo with a familiar font appears on the screen. Now if only we could remember where we’ve seen that font before…
The date at the end of the video implies we’ll get our first information about this mysterious sequel on 8/8 – that’s the next coming Wednesday to you and me. I would recommend visiting GamesRadar on that very day. Of course, I’d recommend you visit GamesRadar every day, but that one looks to be particularly worthy of extra recommendation.

Last week’s teaser video filled with various PlayStation game references promised something was coming on October 5. Despite what some predicted, it’s not meant to promote the PlayStation Home relaunch or any new games; instead, it’s a video for a new line of advertisements, albeit a pretty cool one.
It starts out in similar fashion to last week’s before allowing us to see who was making all of that noise heard towards the end of the first video. A number of PlayStation 3 game characters can be seen recalling various experiences they’ve had — there is Uncharted‘s Nathan Drake, Twisted Metal‘s Sweet Tooth, Infamous‘ Cole MacGrath, MLB 11 cover star Joe Mauer, Metal Gear Solid‘s Solid Snake, Portal‘s Chell, LittleBigPlanet‘s Sackboy, God of War‘s Kratos, Assassin’s Creed‘s Ezio Auditore, and quite a few more. Sony claims there are plenty of Easter eggs in there that will be hard to pick up on during your first viewing.
The entire purpose of the trailer is to cast light on PS3 gamers; all of the characters end up chanting the name “Michael,” who is one of the many people who responded to a call by Sony last month to send in a picture of yourself holding a PS3 controller. About a dozen people were chosen for this Long Live Play campaign that you’ll begin seeing on national television today.
Paramount has released the first teaser trailer and poster for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming 3-D CG performance capture feature, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn. This fresh take on Belgian comic-book artist Hergé’s classic character will hit theaters December 23 of this year.
Produced by Spielberg and Peter Jackson from a script by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, the film stars Jamie Bell as Tintin, Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock, as well as Daniel Craig (Red Rackham), Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Gad Elmaleh and Mackenzie Crook.
The film blends story lines from multiple Tintin comic books in a story which finds the intrepid young reporter as his curiosity thrusts him into a fantastic adventure; encountering friends and foes in his quest to uncover the secret of the ship known as The Unicorn. While Infinity Ward and Activision might not have had any intention of releasing a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 trailer today, the massive leak from earlier this morning likely encouraged both parties to go ahead and release the trailer above.
Not much is shown; a “3″ turns into “Am3rica” before missiles are fired on New York City. A few words are also spoken towards the end in what sounds like Russian.
As for the veracity of the leaked information earlier today, IW’s Robert Bowling said on Twitter, “A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I’d wait for the real reveal.” As a part of the trailer’s release, he said a short while ago, “Wasn’t planned, but you’re clearly hyped, so here is the 1st of many Modern Warfare 3 videos coming in hot today!”
