Top 11 in ’11: TV’s Funniest Women
This has been a banner year for women in TV. Two new female-fronted comedies, ‘New Girl‘ and ‘2 Broke Girls,’ broke out of the fall pack, and hilarious females continued to steal scenes on veteran shows like ‘Community‘ and ‘Cougar Town.’ And who can forget Melissa McCarthy’s triumphant victory at the Emmys?
To celebrate the Fabulous Female Laff Riot of 2011 (bear with us: that’s only a working title), AOL TV is counting down the Top 11 women in TV comedy.
But first, a programming note: please try not to freak out when you don’t see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on the list. They belong to the Hall of Fame, and our list is devoted to those witty women who have come into their own during the last year.
